Dreamship Dark

Dreamship dark dirge:

Cloying stiffle heat in a

dry throat scream.

Terrible light, a bright full-moon

now obscured by full clouds,

a blanket of smouldering white.

Heavy limb, crusty eye;

deep pain in shoulder joint turn:

silent moan escapes.

Cats scuffle in darkness-

awaken from the dream,

becoming quick nightmare in waking

ridden by swift loud

unexpected horses hoofs.

Their beat and echo still throb in my

sand encrusted head

I sit up in bed scared.
